The method

One assignment, two residences

The double survey

We assess the departure residence in person and the arrival address remotely or through our local contacts — access, parking, lift capacity, building rules on both sides.

The customs file

ToR application for the UK, Swiss import inventory for Geneva, export paperwork for works of art: prepared with you well before departure, so nothing waits at a border.

The dedicated run

Your household travels alone, in a padded vehicle with the same crew door to door. No groupage for precious goods, no transloading, no shared container.

The arrival

Reinstallation room by room at the destination, packing materials removed, a final walkthrough with your coordinator — in English, wherever you land.

III
Precious goods

No groupage —
ever — for what matters

Most international movers consolidate: your belongings share a lorry or container with strangers' freight, changing hands at each hub. For a household that includes art, antiques or a wine collection, that is a risk we simply decline to take.

VIPMOOVE runs dedicated vehicles only on precious assignments. Works of art travel crated to museum-grade standards, pianos with their specialised crew, and the whole load is covered at declared value from door to door.

In between

When the dates
do not align

A lease ending in Paris before the London house completes, works planned at the Geneva apartment: international timelines rarely match to the day.

Your belongings can wait in our secure storage near Paris — inventoried, sealed and insured at declared value — then depart on the dedicated run the day the destination is ready. One quotation covers the whole sequence; for the household side of the assignment, see luxury moving in Paris.

Frequently asked

Moving abroad — your questions

What is a Transfer of Residence (ToR) and do we need one for London?

ToR is the UK relief that lets you import your household goods without duty when you move your main residence to Britain. It must be applied for before the goods travel. We guide you through the application and schedule the move around your approval, so nothing is held at the border.

Will we pay customs duty on our furniture entering Switzerland?

Generally not: used household goods imported when you transfer your domicile to Switzerland are admitted duty-free, provided they cross with the proper declaration and inventory. We prepare both, and our crews clear the crossing with your file complete.

Is moving to Monaco treated as an international move?

Administratively it is simpler than London or Geneva — Monaco belongs to the French customs territory, so there is no customs barrier. The difficulty is logistical: restricted vehicle access, tight streets and strict building schedules. We plan every delivery with your building before departure.

How long does a move from Paris to London or Geneva take?

The road journey itself takes a day or two on a dedicated run. The realistic timeline is set by preparation — survey, packing days and, for the UK, the ToR approval. Most assignments complete within a few weeks of the survey; your coordinator commits to firm dates in the quotation.
